I just got done showing this to my son and he just giggled and laughed while he forced me to play it over and over again.  I have to admit that for a first attempt at a light saber effect its not bad.  It took me about 3 nights to key frame the mask for the saber blade.  Once that was done applying the effect was very easy.  The only part that I need to go back and fix is when I mask out Luke's head so that the saber appears to pass behind his melon.  I did most of this last night so at 3:AM I just wanted to see the completed product and didn't care much about the minor mistakes.  I need some more practice but I'm not sure who was more excited to see this finished product, me or Luke.
